Office 2007 - What's New, Tips and Tricks
I went to a GREAT session with Patrick Crispen, a featured speaker from the University of California that I have seen speak many times, and he always has wonderful ideas and tips.
This session was on the new features in Office 2007. I think we all have "made our way through" the programs as we have started using it, but none of us, including me, have had any real training per say.
Patrick's Power Point, linked below, has lots of great tips and tricks to use in the new program. Items I just could not find, now I was able to figure out where they were. In addition, he brought to light some great NEW features I haven't had time to explore. Patrick has also given us all his notes so you can see what we talked about in addition to his Power Point presentation.
For those of you in graduate school right now, have I got a trick for you... Did you know that Word 2007 will format your APA references for you AND track and save your references once you add them to Word on your computer???? I almost shed a tear for all the time I have waisted doing this "by hand". Send me a comment back to this blog if you want to learn more about this when I return to school. Please remember, when adding a comment you will respond anonymously (unless you have a blogger account of your own) so please be sure to sign your name to your post.
OH - and wait until you all see the COLOR CODING features in Excel that will allow us to "sort" students on any spreadsheet you create. How about our Performance Summaries... After entering all that information, wouldn't you like it to just highlight the kids that have scored the lowest in red, the middle in yellow and so on???? I know this would make it a much more useful tool for you and our administration.
VERY COOL.... I ooohhed and aaahhhed a few times in this presentation.

Count me in on your mini-seminars on Office 2007. How 'bout these titles? "Where They Hid Everything Useful" and "Look What I Can Do, Ma!"
I'm glad that you are having a wonderful experience. Your enjoyment is shining through your posts loud and clear!
