ACTIVarena - Release Date January 2008
For all you ACTIVboard users in the building, there is something new coming down the pike!
How about being able to use TWO pens on your board at the same time??? This will be possible in January 2008 using their new software called ACTIVarena.
Do you feel this would help student collaboration in the classroom?
I am thinking of starting off with one or two rooms to see if it is worth the investment. We would have to purchase some special pens and software for this upgrade.
Comment to this blog and let me know what you think and how you might use this in your classroom. Maybe you could be one of the first to have this technology in our building, and across the county :-)

I think it would be great to use both pens. When they are working in partners or both completing an activity it would prove to be very useful. Also, sometimes I would like to have students race to complete something on the board and this would allow them to do so. Sounds good!
Yes this would be great! Definitely would increase collaboration and ability to work in pairs or with me at the board. For activities where I want everyone to come up and have a turn I could ask 2 up at a time. This would make the activity go faster and allow everyone a turn before we ran out of time. It would also decrease their wait time when they tend to get bored or frustrated. It may even decrease disruptive behaviors in the classroom because mmore students will be able to get involved in a less amount of time!
Also, Sometimes I'd like to have more than one thing on the board. Like a graphing task and drag and drop activity.
You can not imagine how many times I have wished (and even grabbed for) a second pen to work!
